Defenseman Troy Stecher had a goal and two assists to lift the Vancouver Canucks to a 5-3 preseason win against the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Arena on Wednesday.

Brendan Gaunce, Joseph Labate, Anton Rodin and Erik Gudbranson also scored for Vancouver.

Oilers center Connor McDavid had three shots on goal and was minus-1 in 23:05 of ice time in his first preseason game since returning from the World Cup of Hockey 2016. He did not score but had three assists in three games for Team North America at the tournament.

Drake Caggiula scored two goals in the first period for Edmonton, and Griffin Reinhart scored in the second.
