The Vancouver Canucks on Monday signed Swedish goaltender Joacim Eriksson to a contract, terms of which have not been disclosed.
Eriksson, 23, is coming off a season in which he helped Skelleftea capture the 2012-13 Elitserien Championship. He posted a record of 21-9-0, a 1.67 goals-against average, a save percentage of .931 and five shutouts in 30 regular season games. In 10 playoff appearances, Eriksson recorded a 1.06 GAA and a .952 save percentage, helping Skelleftea capture the Elitserien Championship.
The 6-foot-1, 189-pound native of Gavle, Sweden, was originally selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the seventh round of the 2008 NHL Draft.
