Baertschi signs two-year contract with Canucks

Forward had 15 goals, 13 assists in 69 games this season @NHLdotcom

Forward Sven Baertschi signed a two-year contract Thursday to remain with the Vancouver Canucks.

Baertschi, 23, could have become a restricted free agent July 1. The contract has an average annual value of $1.85 million, the Canucks said.

Baertschi was acquired by Vancouver in a trade with the Calgary Flames on March 2, 2015, for a second-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.

Selected by the Flames with the 13th pick in the 2011 draft, he had 15 goals and 28 points in 69 games for the Canucks this season and has 25 goals and 58 points in 138 games in the NHL.
