Situation Room: Sedin's OT winner stands

Daniel Sedin's goal in overtime is reviewed for goaltender interference, but video review confirms the call on the ice for a good goal

  • 02:17 •

At 2:12 of overtime in the Canucks/Blackhawks game, the Situation Room initiated a review under the terms of a Coach's Challenge to examine whether a Vancouver player interfered with Chicago goaltender Scott Darling prior to Daniel Sedin's goal.

After reviewing all available replays and consulting with the NHL Hockey Operations staff, the Referee confirmed no goaltender interference infractions occurred before the puck crossed the goal line.

Therefore the original call stands - good goal Vancouver Canucks.

NOTE: In the final minute of play in the third period and at any point in Overtime (Regular Season and Playoffs), Hockey Operations will initiate the review of any scenario that would otherwise be subject to a Coach's Challenge.
