The Vancouver Canucks say forward David Booth will miss four to six weeks with a sprained MCL following a knee-on-knee collision with Colorado's Kevin Porter on Tuesday.

Porter was given a kneeing major and a game misconduct for the incident, which took place 10:55 into what turned out to be a 6-0 victory by the Canucks. Booth left the game and did not return. Porter will have a disciplinary hearing with the NHL on Thursday.

Booth, 27, has five goals and 12 points in 19 games since joining the Canucks in a trade with the Florida Panthers.

The Canucks recalled forward Bill Sweatt from the AHL Chicago Wolves on Wednesday and returned Victor Oreskovich to Chicago.
