'Canes put Sutter on injured reserve

Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Michael Ryan from the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League. To make room for Ryan on the roster, the Hurricanes placed center Brandon Sutter on injured reserve.

Ryan, 28, was signed by the Hurricanes on Oct. 31, and has played in two games with the River Rats, notching one goal and earning two assists (3 points). The Boston native spent the past two seasons with the Buffalo Sabres, totaling four goals and four assists (8 points) in 46 games with the Sabres in 2007-08.
