MONTREAL (AP) -Canadiens prospect Mathieu Carle will be out eight weeks due to a sprained ligament in his left knee and fellow defenseman Andrew Archer broke a cheek during a fight.
Both players were injured during the Canadiens' 3-2 overtime victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night.
Archer, a minor-league defenseman, was hurt in a fight with Penguins enforcer Georges Laraque in the first period. He left the ice bleeding heavily near the right eye. He spent the night in the hospital for tests and treatment.
