MTL@VGK, Gm2: Price denies Martinez from in close

Carey Price may have made the save of the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Wednesday.

The Montreal Canadiens somehow used his pants to rob defenseman Alec Martinez during the second period of Montreal's win against the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Semifinals.
Defense partner Alex Pietrangelo sent a cross-ice pass to Martinez, and he one-timed toward a wide-open goal. The capacity crowd at T-Mobile Arena roared in approval thinking Martinez had cut Montreal's lead to 2-1 about five minutes into the second period.
But Price slid across to challenge and somehow deflected the puck out of play. Price himself didn't even seem to know how he stopped it.
"I'm just using all my extremities," he said with a laugh after the game. "It's just about competing."
It was by far the best of his 29 saves and the difference in Montreal's 3-2 win that evened the best-of-7 series at 1.
