It's been a tough season for Carey Price and the Montreal Canadiens, but their fans still managed to send their goalie into the offseason in stellar fashion.

Fans at Bell Centre gave a standing ovation to honor Price for playing his 557th game and taking over the top spot on the franchise's goalie games-played list during the first period of their game final home game of the season against the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday.
"The reaction was something I'll never forget," Price said after Montreal's 5-4 overtime loss. "Through all the hard times we've gone through this year, to have the crowd stand up and appreciate, that meant a lot to me."
The Canadiens posted a video montage of Price's accomplishments through 11 seasons with the team, and it included congratulatory messages from legendary former Montreal goalies Patrick Roy and Ken Dryden. The crowd serenaded Price with cheers until play resumed, and the camera caught him getting emotional in his crease.
"It was definitely an emotional moment for myself," Price said. "I didn't expect it to be, but that video and that ovation was something I really needed I'm really thankful and appreciative for that."
Long before the ovation, Price's wife Angela started the celebration at home by shaping his pancakes into the Nos. 557.

Price and the Canadiens will miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2016, and Tuesday was the final home game of the season. The 31-year-old has battled injuries, and with two games remaining his save percentage (.901) and goals-against average (3.09) are career worsts.
