Canada scheduled to open world junior tournament on Dec. 26 against Finland @NHL

CALGARY - Canada's quest for gold at the world junior tournament will begin on Boxing Day.

The Canadians open the round robin against Finland at Edmonton's Rexall Place on Dec. 26.

They'll also face the Czech Republic (Dec. 28), Denmark (Dec. 29) and the U.S. (Dec. 31) before moving to Calgary for the medal games.

Tournament organizers released the complete schedule on Tuesday.

The quarter-finals will be held at Calgary's Scotiabank Saddledome on Jan. 2, with the semifinals on Jan. 3 and the bronze- and gold-medal games set for Jan. 5.

Canada is hosting the event for the 10th time and will be looking to win back gold after earning silver the last two years.
