Team Europe failed to generate many shots on net, while Canada capitalized on their chances and the home team clinched first place in Group A with a 4-1 win.

By the end of the second period, Canada had outshot the Europeans 30-9. Canada also scored on three of those shots through the first 40 minutes.
Sidney Crosby opened scoring at 4:01 of the first period. Crosby picked up the puck behind the net and wrapped around backdoor of Jaroslav Halak.
A failed play off the boards by Halak resulted in a turnover and it was Jonathan Toews who potted the second goal of the night off that, at 19:05 of the opening frame.
Marian Hossa cut the lead back to one at 4:38 of the second. Hossa slid a steep angle shot beneath Corey Crawford to make it 2-1.
Toews potted his second of the night at 14:48 of the middle frame to make it a 3-1 game heading into the third.
Logan Couture closed out the scoring with a goal at 17:33 of the final frame, to make it a 4-1 final.
The Canadians outshot Europe 46-20. They will play either Russia or North America in the semi-finals.
