Calvert, DeSerres lead Wheat Kings in 4-1 victory over Seattle @NHLdotcom

KENT, Wash. - Matt Calvert had a power-play goal and an empty-netter to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings over the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-1 in Western Hockey League action Friday night.

Mark Schneider and Aaron Lewadniuk scored after Calvert's opener to give Brandon (7-6-1) a 3-0 lead in the second period. Calvert's second goal came in the last minute of the game.

Recently acquired Jacob DeSerres made 28 saves against his former team and picked up his first win of the season.

Sena Acolatse had the lone marker for Seattle (3-8-1) while goaltender Calvin Pickard stopped 23 shots in the loss.
