Calvert, big 3rd period lift Blue Jackets vs. Hurricanes @NHLdotcom

Matt Calvert scored twice and had an assist in the Columbus Blue Jackets' 6-3 preseason win against the Carolina Hurricanes at Nationwide Arena.

Columbus is 6-1-0 this preseason, having outscored opponents 25-15.

Marko Dano (two), Michael Chaput and Artem Anisimov scored for the Blue Jackets in the third-period to break a 2-2 tie. Alexander Wennberg and Dalton Prout each had two assists, and Sergei Bobrovsky made 23 saves.

Victor Rask scored twice, and Michal Jordan had one goal for Carolina. Anton Khudobin, competing with Cam Ward to be the Hurricanes' No. 1 goalie, allowed five goals on 31 shots.

The Blue Jackets learned that forward Boone Jenner would be out about five weeks with a hand injury.
