Calgary Hitmen drop Edmonton Oil Kings 7-2; win Scotty Munro Trophy @NHLdotcom

CALGARY - Brandon Kozun had a goal and two assists to lead the Calgary Hitmen to a 7-2 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings in Western Hockey League action Friday night.

Cody Sylvester, Tyler Fiddler and Michael Stone had a goal and an assist each for Calgary (51-17-3), who won their eighth straight game and clinched the Scotty Munro Trophy as the top regular-season team in the WHL. Ian Schultz, Tyler Shattock and Mackenzie Royer added singles for the Hitmen, who converted three of four power-play opportunities

Michael St. Croix and Robin Soudek scored for the Oil Kings (16-42-13). Edmonton has lost seven straight games.

Calgary goalie Martin Jones made 19 saves to improve his record to 36-11-1. Cam Lanigan started in net for Edmonton and stopped 13 of 18 shots he faced before being pulled at 13:33 of the second period. In a relief appearance, rookie goalie Laurent Brossoit made 18 saves.
