Calgary Flames vs. Vancouver Canucks @NHLdotcom
Flames-Canucks Preview

GAME: Calgary Flames (10-8-1-3) at Vancouver Canucks (14-6-3-2).

TIME: Thursday, 10 p.m. EST.

The Calgary Flames look to earn a point in their eighth straight contest, while the Vancouver Canucks try to extend their unbeaten streak to four games when the teams meet for the second time in six days.

Calgary dropped four of its first six games in November, but has not lost in regulation since, going 4-0-1-2 in its last seven contests.

The Flames concluded a successful run at the Pengrowth Saddledome on Tuesday, beating the San Jose Sharks 3-1 to finish 4-0-1-1 on their season-high, six-game homestand.

Shean Donovan scored his fourth goal in three games on a penalty shot, and Jarome Iginla got his first goal at home this season for the Flames.

"That's a good homestand, and what I like is we played different styles of games," Iginla said. "We want to play our way, but not every night it's going to go our way. We came from behind in some of the games, a couple were higher scoring than we're used to, but we found ways to stick with it and get points, get wins, and get ties."

Vancouver has managed to pick up wins and ties all season, and leads the Western Conference with 33 points.

The Canucks extended their unbeaten streak to three games with a 4-4 tie against Calgary on Saturday to earn five of a possible eight points on their four-game road trip.

Brendan Morrison completed his first career hat trick when he scored on a goal-mouth scramble with 2:09 left in the third period to lift the Canucks to the tie.

"I had a hat trick in college and I scored five goals once in the minors, but other then that it's been a while since I've had a three-goal game," Morrison said. "The biggest thing is it was nice to come back and get a point. That's the main focus here."

Vancouver is returning home for the first time since losing its first game at GM Place on Nov. 22. The Canucks are 9-1-1 at home this season, including a 4-1 win over the Flames on opening night.
