It's Thanksgiving in the United States, so in the spirit of Turkey Day this week's edition of the Super 16 power rankings is all about what teams are thankful for at this point in the season.

The Carolina Hurricanes are thankful for a lot of things, including being No. 1 in the Super 16 for a fourth consecutive week.
The Calgary Flames should be thankful that they're up six spots to No. 5. The Colorado Avalanche might as well be thankful for the same thing; they're up five spots to No. 10.
The Winnipeg Jets might not be as thankful considering they're down five spots to No. 11.
There's more below, but first in order to create the NHL.com power rankings, each of the 13 participating staff members put together his or her version of what they think it should look like. Those were submitted and a point total assigned to each.
The team that was selected first was given 16 points, second got 15, third 14 and so on down to No. 16, which got one point.
Here is the Super 16:

1. Carolina Hurricanes (14-3-1)

Total points: 208
Last week: No. 1
The Hurricanes are thankful for the emergence of rookie forward Seth Jarvis, who has looked comfortable and confident playing on the top line with Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen. Jarvis was the No. 13 pick in the 2020 NHL Draft.

2. Florida Panthers (14-2-3)

Total points: 195
Last week: No. 2
The Panthers are thankful for home games. They won 2-1 in overtime against the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday and are 11-0-0 at FLA Live Arena this season, tying the 1963-64 Chicago Black Hawks for the best start to a season at home. They have a plus-27 goal differential in their home games (50-23) and haven't lost at home in the regular season since April 24, a streak of 15 games.

3. Washington Capitals (12-3-5)

Total points: 167
Last week: No. 4
The Capitals are thankful for their first line of Evgeny Kuznetsov, Alex Ovechkin and Tom Wilson. They have carried much of the offense with forwards
Nicklas Backstrom
(hip),
Anthony Mantha
(shoulder), T.J. Oshie (lower body) and
Lars Eller
(NHL COVID-19 protocol) missing time. Backstrom hasn't played this season.

4. Edmonton Oilers (14-5-0)

Total points: 159
Last week: No. 3
The Oilers are thankful for forwards Leon Draisaitl (40 points) and Connor McDavid (36 points), because any team that can claim the top two scorers in the NHL would be thankful for that. They also are thankful for the first goal; they are 7-0-0 when scoring first.

The Lightning defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 4-0 without them Tuesday, with goals from forwards Steven Stamkos,
