Gritty knows it isn't summer without a trip to the Jersey Shore.

The Philadelphia Flyers mascot trekked east to North Wildwood, New Jersey for a socially distant pep rally to fire fans up for training camp which will begin Monday.

Gritty, his bodyguards and Flyers cheerleaders ventured across state lines to promote Phase 3 of the NHL Return to Play Play, which will take place for the Flyers in Voorhees, New Jersey. The mascot attracted attention, posed for pictures and danced like no one was watching.

The NHL paused its season March 12 due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic. The Flyers will play in the round-robin portion of the Stanley Cup Qualifiers against the Boston Bruins, Washington Capitals and Tampa Bay Lightning when play resumes Aug. 1.
