Kevin Fiala MIN

With the NHL pausing the 2019-20 regular season on March 12 due to the concerns surrounding the coronavirus, NHL.com is taking stock of each of the League's 31 teams.
Today, a fantasy recap of the Minnesota Wild at the pause:
NOTE: Rank for most-valuable fantasy player is based on standard-category production to date.

Fantasy MVP: Kevin Fiala, LW/RW (rank: 93) -- He's had a full-fledged breakout with 26 points (14 goals, 12 assists) and 78 shots on goal in 18 games dating to Feb. 4. Fiala is third in the NHL in points during the span, behind forwards Mika Zibanejad of the New York Rangers (32) and Leon Draisaitl of the Edmonton Oilers (27), and he's tied with Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews in SOG during the stretch, showing his high fantasy ceiling.

Biggest surprise: Alex Stalock, G -- He's tied for first in the NHL in shutouts (three) and tied for second in wins (11) since Jan. 16. Stalock has a .920 save percentage in that span, fourth highest in the NHL (minimum 15 games). Stalock has joined NHL.com's top 25 goalie rankings in recent weeks and made a strong case to be considered the Wild's No. 1 ahead of Devan Dubnyk.

Unsung hero: Ryan Suter, D -- He's been one of the most consistent fantasy defensemen the past five seasons, and his 48 points (eight goals, 40 assists) in 69 games have surpassed his total from last season (47 points in 82 games). Suter is ninth among NHL defensemen in points, tied for fifth in assists, and tied for 12th in power-play points (18). His production is impressive considering the limited fantasy-relevant options on the Wild.
