Ovechkin-Backstrom-Axelrod

The season premiere of "Billions" confirmed once again that Nicklas Backstrom is the passer and Alex Ovechkin scores the goals.

The Washington Capitals dynamic duo got an endorsement from the hit Showtime drama in its first episode of Season 4, which aired Sunday.

"Do you know why Ovi scores so much?" hedge fund genius Bobby "Axe" Axelrod, played by Damian Lewis, asked Bonnie Barella, one of his employees, after she withheld information from Rudy, one of her co-workers, "because Backstrom shares the puck."
Barella, played by Sarah Stiles, made sure that Axelrod knew that Rudy was no Ovechkin.
"Yeah, but when he does, Ovi goes bar down. This lame loses the puck between his legs or air mails it into the glass," Barella says. Seconds later, Axelrod fires Rudy.
The episode's writers, Brian Koppelman and David Levien, gave an inside glimpse at how Ovechkin and Backstrom earned the plug on Twitter earlier in the week.

To be fair, Backstrom has been known to score, with 18 goals this season including three in Washington's past six games, and Ovechkin can dish the puck too. The Capitals captain has 33 assists this season and 548 for his illustrious, 14-season NHL career.
