MTL@CBJ: Special Warfare Forces drop puck in Columbus

The Columbus Blue Jackets rolled out the camouflage carpet on Friday.

The team celebrated Military Appreciation Night during a game against the Montreal Canadiens.
The game started off with members of the Navy's Special Warfare Forces rappel from rafters of Nationwide Arena to drop the ceremonial first puck between Blue Jackets captain Nick Foligno and Canadiens captain Shea Weber.
During first intermission, the Blue Jackets mascot, Stinger, joined members of the United States Army in a Humvee that rolled around the ice. Stinger shot his T-Shirt cannon off the back of the vehicle.

Blue Jackets players were also joined by some servicemen in the traditional pregame soccer warmup.

The team also had retired U.S. Army Sgt. Tom Steckman of the 173rd Airborne Brigade read the starting line in the locker room.

The Blue Jackets also had camouflaged team logos on game pucks and wore special jerseys for warmups.
