Jimmy Vesey and Kevin Hayes got an intense coaching session. And the results were delicious.
Before Vesey signed with the New York Rangers in 2016, Anne Burrell, a chef and Food Network host, was one of many celebrity fans trying to woo the free agent forward to New York via Twitter.
Burrell even threw in some food as an incentive.
But the famous chef did one better. She taught Vesey and Rangers forward Kevin Hayes how to make Pollo al Mattone, or chicken under a brick in Italian.
Burrell is a mainstay at Rangers games and put her superfandom aside for a few minutes to guide Vesey and Hayes through the steps of preparing the chicken and potatoes dish.
All's well that ends well, especially when the end is a chef-assisted meal, and when there's an open-ended invitation to come back and learn some more dishes, that's just the cherry on top.
