Burmistrov's late goal caps epic rally as Barrie comes back to beat Oshawa 6-5

BARRIE, Ont. - Alexander Burmistrov and Alex Hutchings provided the Barrie Colts with a comeback to remember Thursday night.

Burmistrov scored the game-winner with seven seconds left in the third period as the Colts earned an improbable 6-5 win over the Oshawa Generals in OHL action.

Trailing 5-1 just past the midway point of the second period, the Colts (6-2-0) erupted for five unanswered goals, capped by Burmistrov's second of the game. Hutchings kicked off the comeback with a power-play goal at 12:31 of the second, and later tied the game 5-5 with 4:31 left in the third.

Ryan O'Connor and Josh Brittain had the other Barrie goals, while Stephen Gaskin chipped in with three assists.

Jeff Hayes led the way with a pair of goals for the Generals (2-3-2), his first of the night chasing Barrie starting netminder Peter Di Salvo at 10:02 of the second. He added his second at 11:26, completing the Oshawa scoring.

John Padulo, Conor Stokes and Nick Esposto had singles for the Generals.

Dalton McGrath earned the win for Barrie, coming in to relieve Di Salvo and allowing just one goal on 12 shots the rest of the way.

Kevin Bailie made 30 saves in defeat for Oshawa.
