San Jose forward Kane plays Buffalo for first time since trade last season

The Game

Evander Kane will face his former team for the first time when the San Jose Sharks host the Buffalo Sabres at SAP Center on Thursday.

Kane, who was acquired by San Jose on Feb. 26, had 118 points (68 goals, 50 assists) in 196 games for Buffalo, leads the Sharks in goals (four) and is tied in points (five).

Buffalo has been outscored 10-5 in its past three games, going 1-2-0 in that span.
Players to watch

Sabres center Jack Eichel has five points (three goals, two assists) in his past five games.

Sharks forward Timo Meier has a three-game point streak (two goals, one assist).
