SPOKANE, Wash. - Bud Holloway had a hat trick and Jeremy Boyer scored two goals as the Seattle Thunderbirds defeated the Spokane Chiefs 9-6 in Western Hockey League action Monday.
It was Seattle's second win in as many nights over the Chiefs. Drayson Bowman had a five-point night for Spokane (39-13-1-4) with two goals and three assists, improving his team-leading goal total to 35.
Prab Rai, Lindsay Nielsen and Jim O'Brien each had a goal and an assist, Greg Scott and Ian McKenzie finished with two helpers apiece and Jeremy Schappert scored his second goal of the season for Seattle (30-18-5-2), which won its fifth straight.
Stefan Ulmer scored his second of the season for Spokane, Judd Blackwater, Mitch Wahl and Chris Bruton each added a goal and an assist and Jared Spurgeon added a single goal.
Jacob DeSerres turned away 26 shots for Seattle.
Kevin Armstrong allowed five goals on 15 shots in the first period for Spokane. Dustin Tokarski took over and allowed four goals on 15 shots over the final two periods.
