Bud Holloway scores shootout winner as Seattle edges Everett 3-2 @NHLdotcom

SEATTLE, Wash. - Bud Holloway scored the only goal in a shootout to lift the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 3-2 win over the Everertt Silvertips in Western Hockey League action Saturday night.

Seattle came into the extra period 0-5 in games decided after regulation this season and had lost 13 shootouts in a row going back to last season.

Seattle, 10-9-4-1, got 35 saves by Jacob DeSerres in the win. Everett, 14-12-0-2, lost for the second time in a shootout this season.

Shane Harper gave Everett an early lead with a goal at 2:56 of the first period.

Ian McKenzie tied it for Seattle at 9:28 before Taylor Ellington regained the advantage for Everett with a power play goal, his second of the season.

Seattle, which had only eight shots in the first two periods, tied it 37 seconds into the third on the sixth goal of the season by Lindsay Nielsen.
