FOXBOROUGH - Matt Grzelcyk is a professional athlete in one of the most passionate sports cities in the world. But that doesn't mean he can't still be a fan, too.
The Charlestown native grew up rooting for the Patriots and was able to cross one thing off his bucket list on Tuesday afternoon when he joined teammates Charlie McAvoy, Ryan Donato, and Chris Wagner for a visit to New England's final official training camp practice of the summer. The quartet took in the session from the VIP bleachers before heading down to the field following practice to meet with Patriots owner Robert Kraft, head coach Bill Belichick, and several players, including Rob Gronkowski and Patrick Chung.

"It was awesome," said Grzelcyk. "Obviously grew up a Patriots fan, so certainly a dream come true to meet Bill Belichick and meet the rest of the guys. Thankful to everyone for putting this on for us - it's something that means a lot for me."

Belichick even brought the guys into the post-practice huddle to introduce them to his team and express his admiration for the job that they do.
"It's really cool," Grzelcyk said of the camaraderie between Boston's professional sports teams. "All the teams are doing really well and for the fans, obviously, it's pretty nice to have everyone cheering on each other. It's cool to be a part of this and take in the Patriots culture and just looking around and seeing what makes them so great, seeing how hard they practice. It's pretty inspiring."
After meeting with some of the players and members of the Patriots coaching staff, the B's tossed a football around, and Donato even converted a field goal attempt with a solid hold from McAvoy.
