The Boston Bruins
signed Bemidji State University goaltender Matt Dalton
, who led the Beavers to the Frozen Four this season, to an entry-level contract Wednesday.
Dalton helped the 16th-seed Beavers earn the first Frozen Four berth in school history and become the lowest-seeded team to reach the national semifinals. In 31 games during the regular season, Dalton compiled a 19-11-1 record with a College Hockey America-best 2.19 GAA and a .921 save percentage.
The 22-year-old sophomore from Clinton, Ontario, spent the 2005-06 season with the Bozeman IceDogs of the North American Hockey League and the 2006-07 season with the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League before joining Bemidji State for 2007-08.
