BOSTON (AP) - Bruins center Marc Savard is going to take his time and make sure he's OK before returning to the ice after he dealt with post-concussion syndrome throughout the offseason.
Savard says he came back too early when he played for the Bruins in the playoffs following his March 7 concussion. He experienced dizziness, nausea, headaches and even depression.
Following the Bruins' playoff loss to Philadelphia, Savard says he took about a month off before he started working out again. He started skating in late July and had issues every time he did anything. By mid-August he began to discuss his problems with agent Larry Kelly. When he reported to Boston for the opening of training camp, he failed an impact test.
