Bruins' Paille struck in face by puck

by Matt Kalman

BOSTON -- Boston Bruins forward Daniel Paille was hit in the face with a third-period slap shot by New York Islanders defenseman Steve Staios during a 6-2 victory against the New York Islanders on Monday night at the TD Garden.

He was helped off the ice and did not return.

"He's going to be seen by some specialists tonight," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "The puck hit him in the face and the nose area, so we’ll probably know more tomorrow once he’s seen by the specialists."

Paille, 27, has 2 goals in 13 games for Boston this season.
