CAR@BOS, Gm6: Thibeault cheers on Marchand, Bruins

Jake Thibeault fired up the TD Garden crowd Thursday.

The 18-year-old was invited by the Boston Bruins to be their fan banner captain before Game 6 against the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference First Round.
Thibeault suffered a spinal cord injury on Sept. 4, 2021 while playing for his club team the Boston Bulldogs in a regional hockey tournament. He collided with another player, falling headfirst into the boards, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.
New England Patriots running back Damien Harris accompanied Thibeault on the ice for the flag waving ceremony.

Thibeault was later featured on TNT's game broadcast where it was mentioned that he is now texting buddies with his favorite player, Bruins forward Brad Marchand and how the team has embodied his refuse to lose spirit.
