Bruins captain Zdeno Chara returns for lineup after missing 1st 2 games of the season @NHLdotcom

BOSTON - Boston defenceman Zdeno Chara is in the lineup for the first time this season for the Bruins' game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday afternoon.

The 38-year-old captain missed the first two games with an undisclosed upper body injury. He played just three shifts in the preseason before suffering the injury against the New York Rangers on Sept. 24.

Chara has been the mainstay of Boston's defence the past nine seasons, including a Stanley Cup title in 2011.

The Bruins lost their first two games of the season by a combined 10-4 score that featured a number of defensive breakdowns.

He received a nice hand when he stepped on the ice for the first time in the opening minute.
