PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Tyler G. Brown and Chris Terry scored goals 55 seconds apart late in the second period to break a deadlock and pace the Plymouth Whalers to a 5-3 win over the Owen Sound Attack in Ontario Hockey League play at the Compuware Arena Friday evening.
The win moved Plymouth (25-22-5-0) three points ahead of Owen Sound (20-20-6-6) in the race for seventh spot in the OHL Western Conference standings.
The Whalers twice battled back from one-goal deficits before Brown beat Attack goalie Tyler Beskorowany on a rebound at 14:01 of the second period, and then Terry one-timed a cross-ice feed from Matt Caria past Beskorowany's glove at 14:56.
Owen Sound's Steven Shipley cut the lead to a goal with 4:17 remaining in the third, but Plymouth's Tyler Seguin responded less than two minutes later with the insurance marker.
Jamie Devane and Beau Schmitz also scored for the Whalers, while Owen Sound got goals from Marcus Carroll and Paul Bezzo.
Plymouth goalie Matt Hackett earned the win making 46 saves, while Beskorowany stopped 40 shots in the loss.
