Brouwer in OT, Ovechkin scores twice for Capitals @NHLdotcom

Troy Brouwer scored 2:12 into overtime to give the Washington Capitals a 5-4 preseason win against the Boston Bruins at Verizon Center on Friday.

Alex Ovechkin scored two power-play goals for Washington, which got a goal each from Michael Latta and Liam O'Brien, who tied the game 4:55 into the third period.

Philipp Grubauer (nine saves) and Justin Peters (10 saves) allowed two goals each.

Seth Griffith scored twice, and Matt Fraser and Matt Lindblad had one each for Boston, which led 4-2. Jordan Caron had two assists, and Niklas Svedberg made 24 saves.
