BRANDON, Man. - Laurent Brossoit stopped 41 shots, earning first star of the game, as his Edmonton Oil Kings defeated the Brandon Wheat Kings 7-1 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.
Michael St. Croix led the Oil Kings (25-9-4) offence with two goals and an assist. Dylan Wruck had a goal and two assists while, Stephane Legault, Cole Benson, Jordan Peddle and Mitchell Moroz added singles to round out Edmonton's scoring.
Paul Ciarelli scored the lone goal for the Wheat Kings (21-15-2).
Brandon Anderson stopped 26 of 31 shots before being relieved by Curtis Honey to start the third period. Honey allowed two goals on 12 shots in relief.
Edmonton went 2-for-4 on the power play while Brandon failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.
