CALGARY - Joel Broda scored his league-leading 40th goal of the season and Calgary Hitmen scored five straight times en route to a 6-2 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday night.
Brandon Kozun, Paul Postma, Brett Sonne and Kyle Bortis each had a goal and an assist for the Hitmen (44-8-3-1), who rebounded from a 7-6 overtime loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings three nights earlier. Bostjan Golicic also scored, while Alex Plante had a pair of helpers.
Brent Raedeke had a goal and an assist for the Oil Kings (23-27-2-4), who jumped out to a 2-1 lead prior to the Hitmen's scoring outburst. Brett Breitkreuz also scored and Mark Pysyk chipped in with two assists.
Calgary goalie Martin Jones made 15 saves to record his WHL-leading 33rd win of the season. At the other end of the ice, Edmonton netminder Torrie Jung stopped 26 of 31 shots he faced before being replaced by back-up Cam Lanigan, who made five saves in a relief appearance.
