CHILLIWACK, B.C. - Joel Broda assisted on Adam Hughesman's tying goal and added the game winner with 3:03 left in regulation as the Tri-City Americans rallied to beat the Chilliwack Bruins 4-3 on Sunday night in the Western Hockey League.
Mark Santorelli opened the scoring for the Bruins, lifting a tight shot under the crossbar on the power play for the only goal of the first period.
The Americans and Bruins each scored two goals in the second period. The Americans scored the first two goals as Taylor Procyshen on the power play and Johnny Lazo scored to give Tri-City its first lead of the night.
The Bruins answered back with two of their own before the period ended. Mike Proudley scored while short-handed and Nick Holden found the net on a 5-on-3 power play to restore Chilliwack's one-goal lead at 3-2.
The Americans fought back with a goal at the midway mark of the third period, Hughesman converting a slap pass from Broda to tie the game 3-3.
Broda then scooped a loose puck past goalie Matt Esposito of the Bruins and gave the Americans their third come-from-behind road victory of the weekend.
Goaltender Chet Pickard earned his second win of the season for the Americans.
Esposito fell to 1-2 with the loss.
