Brett Sonne's three-point night leads Hitmen to third straight win @NHLdotcom

CALGARY (CP) - Brett Sonne and T.J. Galiardi each had two goals and an assist to lead the Calgary Hitmen to a 5-1 win over the Kootenay Ice in Western Hockey League action Monday night.

Carson McMillan also scored for the Hitmen (3-0-0), who reeled off three goals in the second period to break a 1-1 tie.

Sonne and Galiardi each scored short-handed goals during the onslaught, while the Hitmen power play went 2-for-6.

Michael Stickland scored the lone goal for the Ice, which has lost three games in a row to start the season.

Dan Spence made 24 saves in the Hitmen net to record his second win, while Kootenay goalie Nathan Lieuwen stopped 28 of the 33 shots he faced in his first start of the season.
