Kulak agrees to terms with Oilers on four-year, $11 million contract

Defenseman stays with Edmonton, was traded there by Montreal last season

Brett Kulak agreed to a four-year, $11 million contract with the Edmonton Oilers on Monday. It has an average annual value of $2.75 million.

The 28-year-old defenseman had 21 points (five goals, 16 assists) in 74 regular-season games for the Oilers and Montreal Canadiens last season, including eight points (two goals, six assists) in 18 games after he was acquired in a trade with the Canadiens on March 21.

Kulak had five assists in 16 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Selected by the Calgary Flames in the fourth round (No. 105) of the 2012 NHL Draft, Kulak has 64 points (15 goals, 49 assists) in 334 regular-season games for the Oilers, Canadiens and Flames, and nine assists in 39 playoff games.
