EDMONTON - Brenden Dowd scored the deciding goal in shootout to hand the Edmonton Oil Kings a 3-2 victory over the Swift Current Broncos Monday night in WHL action.
Robin Figren scored a goal and an assist in regulation, opening the scoring in the first period with a power-play marker at 13:06 for Edmonton (4-2-0-1). Brent Raedeke scored in the third to make 2-0.
Dale Weise replied first for the Broncos, making 2-1 before Erik Felde tied it at 4:34.
Alex Archibald made 32 saves for Edmonton, while Travis Yonkman stopped 21-of-23 for Swift Current (5-2-0-1).
