Shanahan signs contracts

Brendan Shanahan is coming in clutch for Toronto's kids.

Young fans visited the Toronto Maple Leafs president's office with some very important business.
The Maple Leafs Next Gen game against the Philadelphia Flyers is being played at 2 p.m. on Thursday…a school day.

Shanahan asked the kids what they wanted him to do about it and they handed him a letter.
"To whom it may concern, please excuse the students from your class," Shanahan read from the letter as the kids looked on. "On December 22nd, 2022, the Toronto Maple Leafs will be playing in their first Next Gen game at 2 p.m. And it is very important that the whole class is in attendance to cheer the Leafs. Sincerely, my name."
After signing the letter, Shanahan asked the kids if there was anything else they wanted him to sign.
The young fans quickly piled their report cards and field trip permission slips onto his desk.
One kid, Maisy, had the Maple Leafs president sign her first NHL contract.
When Shanahan asked Maisy if she played goalie or defense, she just shrugged her shoulders. Shanahan signed the contract anyway.
