Brendan Lemieux agreed to a two-year, $3.1 million contract with the New York Rangers on Friday. It has an average annual value of $1.55 million.

The 24-year-old forward was a restricted free agent who was scheduled to have an arbitration hearing Friday.
Lemieux scored an NHL career-high 18 points (six goals, 12 assists) in 59 games with the Rangers last season and no points in one game during New York's three-game loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in the best-of-5 Stanley Cup Qualifiers.
Selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the second round (No. 31) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Lemieux has scored 36 points (19 goals, 17 assists) in 131 games for the Winnipeg Jets and Rangers, who acquired him in a trade Feb. 25, 2019.
New York had three other players who filed for arbitration. Defenseman Tony DeAngelo (Oct. 15) and goalie Alexandar Georgiev (Oct. 15) each agreed to a contract prior to his scheduled hearing. Forward Ryan Strome agreed to a two-year, $9 million contract ($4.5 million AAV) prior to his scheduled hearing Thursday, the Rangers announced Friday.
