BROSSARD, Quebec - Montreal Canadiens right wing Brendan Gallagher won't play against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday (7:30 p.m. ET; FS-SW, RDS, SNE, NHL.TV) because of a lower-body injury, coach Michel Therrien said Monday.
Gallagher left the 4-2 loss at the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday in the first period after he got tied up with Jets center Marko Dano and fell awkwardly while doing the splits.
Gallagher, who has 18 goals and 35 points in 49 games this season, will have medical tests Monday.
The Canadiens may also be without forwards Alex Galchenyuk and Lars Eller against Dallas. Galchenyuk has a lower-body injury he sustained in Winnipeg, while Eller has been playing through an upper-body injury, Therrien said.
Neither practiced Monday.
Galchenyuk has seven goals in his past six games.
The Canadiens are already missing injured forwards David Desharnais, Brian Flynn and Daniel Carr, defensemen Nathan Beaulieu, Jeff Petry and Tom Gilbert, and goaltender Carey Price.
