TAMPA -- Brayden Point has been ruled out for the Tampa Bay Lightning for Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Colorado Avalanche at Amalie Arena on Sunday (8 p.m. ET; ABC, ESPN+, CBC, SN, TVAS).

Lightning coach Jon Cooper said they will go with the same lineup as Game 5, a 3-2 win.
Point skated Sunday morning but will miss his fourth straight game with a lower-body injury. He sustained the injury in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference First Round against the Toronto Maple Leafs and missed the next 10 games. He returned for the first two games of the Final and had an assist but has not played since.
Colorado leads the best-of-7 series 3-2 and could win the Stanley Cup for the first time in 21 years with a victory Sunday.
Cooper said Point's availability for Game 7 on Tuesday, if needed, is unknown.
Earlier in the playoffs Point said the difficulty in dealing with such an injury is being honest with yourself about how much your ability to contribute is hindered.
"It's tricky too because players are used to playing at a certain way, or how they feel they can play," Cooper said. "If they don't feel confident in playing at the caliber they're used to, it almost works against them. So it's unfortunate because it's a severe injury and at this time of the year, everybody's trying to get back into the lineup and there are just some things you can't do. When you can't do what you're used to doing, it's tough on a player.
"That's been part of our issue here. So he's still plugging along here and rehabbing and trying to get better. Who knows? If the series goes one more game, you never know. It's tough on these guys because they're such competitors."

Cooper was asked how difficult it is to have a conversation with a player about their availability, or lack thereof, like he had with Point after Game 2 of the Final.
"It's extremely difficult for everyone involved, because everyone cares so much," he said. "But there's no animosity or anything like that. They're just difficult conversations because everybody wants the same thing.
"We both know the answer."
Point has five points (two goals, three assists) in nine Stanley Cup Playoff games. He led the NHL with 14 playoff goals in 2020 and 2021, helping the Lightning win consecutive Stanley Cup championships.
Defenseman Erik Cernak and forward Anthony Cirelli will play Sunday. Each played in Game 5 after being questionable.
"Me and 'Pointer' have been good buddies since we got here," Cirelli said. "Obviously I feel for him if he doesn't play.
"He's just a great support guy for all of us. Comes out there battling, trying to get better every single day, and the motivation. Just in the locker room too, he brings so much leadership. He's a guy everyone just wants to be around so we're going out there and playing for him."
