If home is where the heart is, Jaroslav Halak is wearing his heart on his helmet this season.
The New York Islanders goalie unveiled his new helmet for 2017-18, and it pays homage to Halak's native country, Slovakia, and his current NHL home in Brooklyn.
The mask, which was painted by Swedish mask artist David Gunnarsson, pays homage to Bratislava, his hometown and the capital of Slovakia, with an image of the Bratislava Castle.
On the other side, is a picture of the Brooklyn Bridge, which connects Manhattan and Brooklyn, where the Islanders play their home games.
Besides the cityscapes, the mask has multiple Islanders logos on each side, his No. 41 on the chin and a brick wall on top. It's capped with an orange shield.
