Brassart scores late goal as the Hitmen edge the Wheat Kings @NHLdotcom

CALGARY - Brady Brassart scored a power-play goal with 1:50 left in regulation to lead the Calgary Hitmen to a 4-3 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings in Western Hockey League action on Sunday.

Trevor Cheek scored a pair of goals for the Hitmen (17-13-2), while Alex Gogolev added a single.

Alessio Bertaggia had two goals and an assist for the Wheat Kings (19-13-2), while Dominick Favreau also scored.

Calgary netminder Brandon Glover made 22 saves to pick up the win, as Brandon goalie Brandon Anderson stopped 37 of 41 shots in defeat.

The Hitmen went 1-for-4 on the power play, while the Wheat Kings failed to convert any of their five chances with the man advantage.

The Wheat Kings were without the services of their two leading scorers Mark Stone and Michael Ferland, who are attending Team Canada?s selection camp for the upcoming world junior hockey championships.
