Derick Brassard scored in his first preseason game with the Ottawa Senators, but Jake McCabe scored 1:32 into overtime to give the Buffalo Sabres a 3-2 win Tuesday.
Derek Grant scored for Buffalo with 4:41 remaining in the third period to tie the game 2-2. Nick Baptiste scored, and Robin Lehner made 37 saves. Chris Neil scored for Ottawa, and Andrew Hammond and Matt O'Connor combined to make 29 saves. Brassard, who was acquired this offseason in a trade with the New York Rangers, broke a 1-1 tie 25 seconds into the third period.
