Brandon-Tanev

Brandon Tanev is out for the rest of the season for the Seattle Kraken with an ACL injury.

The forward left in the third period of a 5-3 home loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Dec. 18. Tanev had surgery Dec. 30 and is expected to be ready for the start of next season.
"It was a successful surgery and Brandon is already starting his rebab with our training staff," general manager Ron Francis told the Kraken website Monday. "We might spell him from time to time during road trips so he can get out of town and keep his mind fresh."
Tanev's nine goals were third on the Kraken (10-19-4), and his 15 points were sixth. He led them with three game-winning goals. Francis said his recovery timeline is six to nine months, and he expects Tanev will be able to train this summer in his hometown of Toronto.
Tanev, who was selected by Seattle in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft from the Pittsburgh Penguins, has scored 107 points (51 goals, 56 assists) in 325 regular-season NHL games for the Winnipeg Jets, Penguins and Kraken, and 10 points (six goals, four assists) in 32 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
