BOSTON -- Brandon Carlo of the Boston Bruins was taken off the ice on a stretcher midway through the third period of a
5-1 win against the Florida Panthers
on Saturday.
The 21-year-old defenseman went down awkwardly along the boards by the Zamboni entrance at TD Garden at 10:28 of the period with what appeared to be a lower-body injury.

"I don't have an update yet," Boston coach Bruce Cassidy said. "It didn't look good when you go off in a stretcher, obviously, so we'll keep our fingers crossed on that one."
Carlo played 18:31 before leaving. He has six assists and is plus-10 in 76 games this season.
Center Riley Nash, who filled in for Patrice Bergeron on the top line at points during the season, was hit in the side of the face by a shot from teammate Torey Krug at 2:47 of the second period. Nash, who was bloodied by the puck, was helped off the ice and did not return. Cassidy said Nash was getting stitches in his ear.
Nash has 41 points (15 goals, 26 assists) in 76 games.
The Bruins, who moved back into first place in the Atlantic Division and the Eastern Conference,
play at the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday
(12:30 p.m. ET; NBC, TVAS, NHL.TV).
"We're leaving right after the game, so it's not your ordinary day. It's basically right now," Cassidy said. "Obviously [Brian] Gionta was a healthy scratch tonight, so we have an extra forward if Nash is unavailable to play. If Carlo [can't play), then [Zdeno Chara] and Charlie [McAvoy] have been skating. We'll see where they're at. Otherwise we'll go to Providence [of the American Hockey League]. They happen to be in Pennsylvania right now. Might be handy.
"It's tough luck for Nash and Carlo, obviously. Not what you want right now."
