CHICAGO (AP) - Brad Richardson had a goal and an assist and Peter Budaj stopped 23 shots in the Colorado Avalanche's 6-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday night.
Brett McLean, Tyler Arnason, Ken Klee, Mark Rycroft and Jeff Finger also scored for Colorado, which started a five-game road trip and won its second straight. Richardson was credited with a goal in the first period following an unusual, delayed video review. The teams continued to skate for one minute 54 seconds after Richardson slid and knocked the puck into the net at 7:43 because no whistle sounded and the puck bounded back into play.
Tuomo Ruutu scored for Chicago, which lost for the fifth time in six games. The Blackhawks are 1-5-2 in their past eight.
Chicago's Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 26 shots.
Blackhawks leading scorer Martin Havlat returned to the lineup after missing Tuesday's game against Detroit with the flu. According to Chicago coach Denis Savard, Havlat lost nearly 10 pounds in a few days.
