BARRIE, Ont. - Cameron Brace scored the eventual winner in the second period as the Owen Sound Attack held on to defeat the Barrie Colts 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday.
Jarrod Maidens, Artur Gavrus and Michael Halmo also scored for Owen Sound (6-7-0), which snapped a three-game losing streak.
Daniel Catenacci added a pair of assists for the Attack.
Colin Behenna and Tanner Pearson replied for Barrie (5-4-1), which scored two goals 1:10 apart late in the third to bring the game close before Halmo added an insurance marker.
Behenna and Zach Hall, who had an assist, extended their league-leading point streaks to 10 games.
The Attack found some success on the power play, finishing the night 2-for-7 with the man advantage. Barrie ended the game at 1-for-7.
In just his third game since being returned to the OHL, Scott Stajcer turned aside 26 pucks as the New York Rangers draft pick earned his first victory of the season.
Mathias Niederberger stopped 21 of the 24 shots he faced before being pulled in favour of Clint Windsor at the start of the third period.
Windsor made 15 saves in relief.
